Dream Habit: A Cute Little App I Created to Help Me Build Better Habits

I have always loved planners.
There is something about writing down a goal, making a little plan, and checking things off that makes me feel like I am getting my life a little more organized.
That love for planning is actually how Follow Pink Dream began.
But over time, I realized that there are some things I wanted to keep track of every day that didn’t always fit neatly onto a paper planner — especially daily habits and water intake.
So I decided to create something for myself.
That little idea eventually became Dream Habit. 🌸
A little more about Dream Habit
Dream Habit is a simple habit and water tracker designed to help you build small, consistent routines without making life feel complicated.
You can use it to track things like:
-
Drinking water
-
Reading
-
Exercise
-
Skincare
-
Taking vitamins
-
Going to bed on time
-
Or any other habit you want to build
You can create your own habits, choose cute icons, set reminders, and mark each habit as completed throughout the day.
I wanted the app to feel simple, cute, and encouraging rather than like another task list that makes you feel overwhelmed.
Why I created a water tracker
One of the main parts of Dream Habit is the water tracker.
You can set your daily water goal and choose your cup size in either ml or oz. When you drink something, you can quickly tap your favourite drink to record it.
The app can track different drink types, including:
Water, juice, coffee, tea, soft drinks and wine.
You can then look back at your daily history and see your weekly progress.
I especially wanted the water tracker to be visual, so instead of just looking at numbers, you can see your progress filling the heart-shaped water display. 💧💗
Habits that fit your own life
One thing I didn’t want was to create an app that told people which habits they should have.
Everyone’s routine is different.
For one person, a good habit might be exercising every morning. For someone else, it might be reading ten pages before bed, doing skincare, or simply remembering to drink enough water.
That’s why Dream Habit lets you create your own habits.
You can give each habit a name, choose an icon, set a reminder time, and decide whether it happens every day or on a custom schedule.
For example, you could create:
📚 Read 20 pages
🧘 Yoga
💊 Take Vitamins
🧴 Skincare AM
🌙 Sleep Time
Then, when the reminder arrives, you can simply check it off.
Small steps can become big changes when you repeat them consistently.
A planner inside the app
Because I love planners so much, I also wanted Dream Habit to have a little planner feeling.
The Planner section gives you a weekly overview where you can see your habits and water intake at a glance.
You can move between weeks, jump to a specific date, and see which habits you’ve completed.
There are also weekly charts to help you look back at your water intake and drink types.
It’s a small feature, but it is one of the parts of the app that makes it feel more like my app.
I wanted it to feel cute, but still simple
If you’ve visited Follow Pink Dream before, you probably already know that I love cute things. 💗
I like soft colours, little illustrations, and cheerful designs.
But I also don’t like things to feel too busy.
That is something I have learned from designing planner inserts for my shop. I don’t use a lot of stickers in my own planners. Instead, I like pages that already have enough cute details to make them enjoyable without needing lots of decoration.
I tried to bring that same feeling into Dream Habit.
The app has a soft pink style, with the option to use a dark theme as well.
I wanted it to feel like a little friendly space you could open every day.
From planner maker to app developer
Dream Habit is also part of a much bigger personal journey for me.
I am the maker behind Follow Pink Dream, where I design and handmake planner inserts, dividers and custom planner products.
But creating planners isn’t the only thing I enjoy.
I also love learning.
During my pregnancy, I started learning Flutter because I wanted to challenge myself and learn something completely different.
At first, I was simply curious.
I wanted to know if I could actually build an app myself.
What started as a hobby slowly became another creative outlet for me.
I started building small apps for myself, learning from my mistakes, fixing bugs, redesigning screens, and gradually becoming more confident.
Eventually, I decided to publish my apps on the App Store and Google Play.
Dream Habit is one of the apps that came from that journey.
Why “Dream Habit”?
I chose the name Dream Habit because I believe our bigger dreams are often built from very small things we do every day.
We don’t always need to completely change our lives.
Sometimes it’s simply:
Drink another glass of water.
Read a few pages.
Take a short walk.
Go to bed a little earlier.
Spend ten minutes doing something good for yourself.
Then do it again tomorrow.
Those little actions become habits, and habits can eventually become part of the life we dream about.
That’s the idea behind Dream Habit. 🌷
Everything stays on your device
I also wanted Dream Habit to be simple and private.
Your habit and water-tracking data is stored locally on your device, so you don’t need to create an account or sign in to use the app.
There is no complicated setup.
Just download the app, create your habits, set your reminders, and start tracking.
More than just one app
Dream Habit is one of several apps I’ve created.
Over the years, I’ve made apps including Novel Planner, SweetMemo, Dream Budget, Piano Notes Reader, and other productivity tools.
Some started because I wanted something for myself.
Some started because I couldn’t find an app that worked the way I wanted.
And some simply started because I wanted to see if I could build the idea.
I enjoy both sides of creativity — designing something with my hands and designing something with code.
Whether I’m making a planner insert or building an app, I always come back to the same goal:
Create something useful, beautiful, and enjoyable to use.
If you’re trying to build better habits…
Maybe you want to drink more water.
Maybe you want to read every day.
Maybe you want to exercise more regularly.
Or maybe you simply want to make your everyday routine feel a little more organized.
You don’t have to change everything at once.
Start with one small habit.
Then another.
And give yourself time.
That’s what I hope Dream Habit can help with — making those little daily steps easier to remember and a little more enjoyable. 💗
Dream big. Start small. Build your habits.
And thank you for supporting my little creative journey here at Follow Pink Dream. Every visit, download, order, and kind message means so much to me.
If you would like to try Dream Habit, you can find it on the App Store and Google Play.
And if you have an idea for a habit, feature, or app that you would love to see, I would love to hear from you.
